My name is Sarah Sutphin and I am the artist behind Melting Flower. Best known for my earthy and textured abstract oil paintings, I work using an alla prima technique with a focus on painting in an impasto style.

My paintings represent a mix of nature, nostalgia and a yearning for more greenery in my own life. Growing up as an only child, many of my favorite moments were spent playing alone in the garden - exploring, climbing trees, and collecting insects. I believe that these small moments have had a lasting effect on shaping my imagination.

Now, living in the city of Chicago, I look to connect with nature in any way I can. I have quite literally surrounded myself with my own large floral landscapes. I think many of us wish to be closer to nature in some way and with my Melting Flower collection of work, I hope to bring the essence of nature into everyday spaces.
